Most people choose to use Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Manager as it is a tool Administrators use to manage SQL Server. To install the SQL 2000 Evaluation Version, follow these steps
1. After the download, extract the file using WinZip.
2. Open the folder "SQLEVAL" in the location you extracted to and click the "setup" exe.
3. At the install sceen, click "Next"
4. Leave the next page as is, click "Next"
5. Leave option "Create a new instance…" checked, click "Next"
6. Make sure your information is correct, click "Next"
7. If you accept the agreement, click "Yes"
8. Choose "Client Tools Only," click "Next"
9. Uncheck "Books Online" and "Development Tools," click "Next" (Note you can install these if you want, Books Online is the full MS SQL documentation so may be very helpful for you).
10. Click "Next"
11. After the installation, click "Finish" Note: On Windows Vista you will get the "This program has known compatibility issues" message. You can still continue and the tools will work ok on Vista in our experience. |
